Privacy Policy
This page explains what happens to your information when you visit Mrs House, why we use it, and what you can ask us to do about it. We have written it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because a policy nobody reads protects nobody.

Who we are
Mrs House is a reviews and guides website published by Zleepy Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13436723, with a registered office at Inglewood Gardens, Aspatria, Wigton CA7 2DA.
Zleepy Ltd is the data controller for this website. That means we are the ones who decide what information gets collected here and what happens to it, and we are the ones responsible if it goes wrong. If you want to raise anything on this page with us, email privacy@mrshouse.co.uk.
What we collect
Information you give us. If you email us or fill in a form on the site, we receive whatever you choose to send, which is usually your name, your email address and the contents of your message.
Information collected automatically. If you accept analytics cookies, our analytics tool records which pages you looked at, how long you stayed, roughly where in the world you are at city level, the type of device and browser you used, and which website sent you here. None of that identifies you by name.
Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. These are technical records rather than anything we look at day to day.
We do not ask for or store payment details on this website. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Cookies and analytics
A cookie is a small file that a website stores on your device. We use as few of them as we can get away with.
Essential cookies. The only cookie we set ourselves is called mh_consent. It remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so that we do not have to ask you again on every page. It lasts six months.
Analytics cookies are switched off until you switch them on. If you choose Accept on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets two cookies named _ga and _ga_QLN016418B. They last up to two years and they tell us how many people read a guide, not who those people are. If you choose Reject, Google Analytics is never loaded at all and those cookies are never set.
You can change your mind whenever you like using the Cookie settings link in the footer, and you can delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Why we use your data, and our lawful basis
UK data protection law requires us to tell you the legal reason we are allowed to use your information. Ours are short.
Consent. Analytics cookies, and any marketing email we might send in future, rely entirely on you saying yes first. You can withdraw that consent at any point and we will stop.
Legitimate interests. If you email us, we use your message and your address to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. We think you would expect that, and it does not override your rights.
Legal obligation. We keep whatever records the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires us to keep them.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We never have, and we have no plans to.
A small number of suppliers process data on our behalf, under contract, and only on our instructions.
WP Engine hosts the website and therefore handles the server logs described above.
Google provides Google Analytics 4 and receives analytics data, but only after you have accepted analytics cookies.
Some of these suppliers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is held for no longer than fourteen months and is then deleted automatically.
Emails you send us are kept for up to two years after our last exchange, unless we need them for longer for a legal reason.
The mh_consent cookie expires after six months, at which point we will ask you again rather than assume your answer still stands.
Your rights
UK data protection law gives you the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to what we are doing with it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without giving a reason.
Email privacy@mrshouse.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge for any of this.
If you are not happy with how we have handled something, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right, but that is your call to make.
Affiliate links and advertising
Mrs House does not currently run affiliate links or advertising, so no advertising cookies are set on this site.
That may change. If we start earning commission on products we recommend, we will say so clearly on every page where it applies, we will name the networks involved on this page, and any cookies they set will sit behind the same consent banner as our analytics. What we recommend will not change because of it. A product either earns its place in a guide or it does not.
Changes to this policy, and how to reach us
We will update this page whenever what we do changes, and the date at the top will change with it. If the change is significant, such as adding a new kind of tracking, we will ask for your consent again rather than assume we already have it.
